10 Sep U COUNT September 2013 Prayer Notes
Praise and Prayer: Local/Domestic, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Uganda/Sarah Miles
The Hunt Club:
Praise to God for the closure of the Fort Collins strip club, The Hunt Club, and that the building will soon be used as a ministry center! God is working in wonderful ways in Northern Colorado!
Pray for the 25 girls who were dancers at The Hunt Club and for other employees, all of whom have lost their means of income due to the closure. Pray that God will provide not only jobs for these employees, but healthy relationships as well.
Please cover in prayer all those who are involved in the decision to close the club, and those who will be involved in the leadership of the church that will soon occupy the building that was once a strip club. Pray for God’s protection in all things, for good health, for safety, for supportive relationships, for daily blessings and direction from God.
There are 2 girls living at Sarah’s Home and the director reports that it can be chaotic and stressful for the staff. Continue to pray for wisdom for the staff and for healing and growth for the girls.
Beth Bruno met a girl in July who confided in her after a session on human trafficking, and hoped to be able to make some referrals on her behalf. She has not had recent contact with her. Pray that this girl would stay strong, seek out a mentor, and that the Lord would pursue her heart.
Pray for clarification on what the Domestic team will be doing this year, and that we step boldly into areas that God has opened up.
Praise God for a new contact Beth has made at DHS who has asked for training for families and kids, including the kids who are offenders. God is doing great things and opening important doors!
The Kay Family:
U COUNT volunteer Marcie Kay and her husband Chris have both lost their fathers within the past month. Please pray for peace and comfort for them and for their extended family.
Pray for healing for David who has Dengue fever and for four other children, who have not completely recovered from Dengue fever.
Pray for Robert and Raul who have a low hemoglobin count. Pray that they would receive the treatment they need and that their health would improve.
Pray for the health of the staff and the grace of God to allow them to continue faithfully towards the goal.
Pray for good health for all the children and staff and for protection from insect bites.
There are 5 boys in the Boys Home. Adam’s mother has returned him after taking him to another home in February. His mother, Jay, attended weekly counseling sessions at the Outreach Centre before she was allowed to return him to the home. She has grown closer to Jesus and is close to leaving the brothels. Pray for her as the team continues to minister to her.
The Boys Home has added a new staff member, Vickey, who is a graduate of Southern Asia Bible College in Bangalore. He is using his love for cricket as a tool to reach the boys. Pray for him as he adjusts to his new role and for the boys as well.
The Boys Home is in need of a new vehicle because the one they are using now has ongoing repair needs that are very costly. Pray that God would provide a new vehicle to be used to transport the children and to run errands.
One of the staff at the Girls Home will be leaving to return to Mumbai on 9/17. Pray for her as she goes to her next ministry assignment, that God would use her in a mighty way. Pray for another staff member for the Girls Home and for the Outreach Center. Pray for Godly, mature young women to be called by God for this work.
The Outreach Center continues to minister to the women and children on a weekly basis. The enemy seems to be on the attack and sends confusion and discouragement. Please pray for strength and encouragement for the staff member at the Center, who is doing an awesome job. Pray that the Center will impact those ladies and give them hope. Pray also for additional staff for the Center.
Lucy will travel to Delhi on Sept. 11 and be there until the 20th. Please pray for her safety and that the time there goes well for all. She and Kevin continue to travel in the US this fall and share about their work in Delhi. Pray for God’s abundant provision for this important work.
One of the Project Rescue leaders, Pastor George Varghese, passed away last week of cancer. Please pray for his wife, Subie, daugher, Lasha and her family, and son, Liban.
The need for qualified and called nationals to staff the PR ministries remains. Please continue to pray that God would provide from among His people in the local churches.
Pray for Sarah as she continues to work on connections in Uganda with those who are fighting human trafficking. Pray that God would give her clear direction, divine appointments and connections.
She needs to find a new place to live, so would like prayer also that God would provide in this area.
Pray for ALL who are working to put a stop to human trafficking and sexual slavery, and those activities that feed this industry. Many who are doing great work in this area have experienced attacks in health problems, disease, weariness, and other areas. Pray for protection from any and all attacks of the enemy! GOD IS GREATER!!!
