U COUNT MAY 2014 PRAYER NOTES

U COUNT MAY 2014 PRAYER NOTES

Praise and Prayer

Praises

The Body U COUNT Event and Contreat were successful with over $1600.00 between the two events!  We are thankful for our volunteers and for every opportunity to spread awareness and create income for the women who make product.

We thank God that tests for Dixie and Ron’s daughter came back negative for new cancer!  Continue to keep her and her family in prayer as she completes another round of chemo.  We pray for complete healing, no recurrence, and that she would feel good and have energy during her treatment.  What a strong witness she has remained throughout her challenges!

We continue to thank God for providing a director for Suraksha in Delhi!

 Prayer Requests

Domestic

1. Pray for Fort Collins Police Officers Annie and Laura as they aggressively move forward with anti-trafficking work and investigations. They are incredible women and valuable assets!

2. Pray for a July training for social service people who work with exploited youth to come together. COVA is offering to pay and it’s an incredible opportunity for our community leaders!

3. May 8 is the quarterly Community Response Team meeting. Beth is proposing two large action steps. Pray they are well received.

Pray for the following upcoming events:

May 10:  Run for Orphans

May 17:  Carbon Valley Half Marathon

June 6:  Illustrated Light Fundraiser

June 21: Front Range Freedom Tour

Global

Pray for over 300 school girls in Nigeria who were kidnapped by an Islamic extremist group, Boko Haram, and are reportedly being sold into slavery.  Kidnappings are on the rise in Nigeria, with over 2200 during the first quarter of 2014 in a campaign against education. Pray that the girls would be returned unharmed to their families and pray that the government would be able to protect citizens from growing insurgency.

Pray for the church worldwide to understand God’s desire that we respond to those in need!  Pray that the church would take care of orphans and widows in their communities, those on the streets, and those who have become victims of trafficking.  The first ever orphan care summit was held in Ethiopia in April and 12 families responded to God’s call to care for those in need and adopt street children!  Pray for a movement in churches in every country to care for at risk children and youth.

Delhi:

There was an outbreak of chicken pox and something they are calling measles in the boys and girls homes in Delhi, with a complete body rash and high fevers for over 5 days in April. Staff was working overtime to take such good care of our kids.  Pray for the health of all the children and the staff and that the staff would be able to catch up on rest.

With a new director for Project Rescue Delhi they will be doing some restructuring.  Please pray for wisdom and direction and that needed change would be well accepted. Please pray for the new director and that God will give her wisdom and favor.

National elections in India were held in April.  The results won’t be announced until May 16.  Please pray for God’s WILL to be done in India.

Continue to pray for “K” as he recovers from surgery for cancer.  Pray for the side effects of the surgery and that he will be 100% by the time they return to India in a few weeks.

Spain:

In 2013 Project Rescue affiliate in Madrid Spain opened the home “New Beginning” for victims of human trafficking.  The home has served more than 20 women from a variety of countries in its first year.  Plans are underway to open a new home with more room for at risk women and their children.  Pray for a strong team to be developed and for financial provision and all of the details to fall in place.
