Prayer: New Delhi, Project Rescue

Local/Domestic Prayer and Praise

January was a GREAT month for U COUNT!!!

As reported earlier:

The two community training events had a total of 130 people in attendance with 30 men at the men’s event!

Pray that communities in Northern Colorado would stamp out trafficking!  Pray also that we’d grow in resources for victims.

Pray that men in our community (and all over the world) would step up and lead the charge against sexual exploitation of women and children.

U COUNT spotlight weekend marketplace and t-shirt sales totaled almost $14,000.00… Donations were over $52,000.00…Art Auction brought over $6500.00!!!  Money was still coming in from donations and the art auction!  A big thanks goes to all who contributed, and especially to our amazing God who continues to stir hearts for the oppressed and bless the efforts of our team.

New Delhi

Please cover Project Rescue in Delhi/Suraksha with prayer!  Pray against a spiritual attack of the enemy and for protection and favor over all of the leaders, staff, women and children.

Over the past two years, they have lost two leaders to cancer and a third has recently been diagnosed with cancer.  Vinita Bhalla was the former director of Suraksha and the principal of Life Centre Academy.  A replacement for the director position has not been found.  Another PR leader, Pastor George Varghese passed away in Sept, 2013.  The loss of both of these leaders has left a big void in Delhi.

Recently another leader was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had surgery on Feb. 3rd.  He and his wife are going to be away from Suraksha for several months while he recovers and receives treatment.  Pray for complete healing for him and a quick recovery from the surgery.  His prognosis is good!

Violence against women in Delhi continues to grow and recently a foreign tourist was gang-raped near the red light district.  Pray for the safety of the staff at the Outreach Center in the RLD and for the women and children who live in the district.  The Outreach Center is a place of refuge in the RLD- please keep it covered in prayer!

One of the prostituted mothers is expecting a baby in March.  She has stopped taking customers until after the birth.  Pray that God would work in her heart and that she would decide not return to this work after the baby is born.

The staff has been praying for the ladies for four years and they typically don’t acknowledge that they are being prayed for, but recently “S” came to a staff member and requested prayer!  Please pray as God continues to work.  Pray that she would be healed of some physical issues and yearn for more of HIM!

Suraksha has asked the landlord of the first floor office if he would consider selling to them.  He is “thinking about it”.  Pray that he would sell it at a reasonable price.  If they are able to buy the first floor, they would have the whole building for God’s glory.

Pray for “M” who is staff at the girls’ home.  She has postponed her wedding to help in a time of need and is feeling confused about her future.  Pray for her and for her fiancé that they would have peace and confirmation about the future.  Please continue to pray for staff at both boys’ and girls’ homes while they continue to operate short-staffed.  Pray for peace in the homes and that they would have daily reminders of how God is working to give new life to the children.

Project Rescue Sites

Continue to pray for more qualified nationals who feel called to train and commit to work with victims.  Pray that leaders would emerge among the women who have been rescued out of slavery and their children.
